Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using Rubiun, an EU-focused OSINT investigation workspace for boards, objects, notes, collaboration, and transforms.

Last updated: 13 September 2026

Draft notice: this page is written as a realistic product draft for launch preparation. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before public release.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using Rubiun, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. These terms are drafted for an EU-focused service and should be finalized against the operator's country and production setup before launch. If you use Rubiun for a company, organization, team, or client, you represent that you have authority to use the service on their behalf.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use Rubiun.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Rubiun. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity under your account. You must keep your login credentials confidential and notify the service owner or administrator if you believe your account has been compromised.

  • You may not create accounts using false, misleading, or unauthorized information.
  • You may not share one account between multiple people unless Rubiun explicitly supports that use.
  • Rubiun may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, create security risk, or abuse the service.

3. Boards, Objects, Notes, and User Content

Rubiun lets users create investigation boards and store objects, notes, relationships, comments, labels, attachments, and other content. You keep ownership of content you create, but you grant Rubiun the limited permission needed to host, display, process, back up, and transmit that content as part of the service.

You are responsible for making sure the information you add to Rubiun is lawful to collect, store, analyze, and share. Do not upload content that is illegal, malicious, invasive, confidential without permission, or otherwise violates another person's rights.

4. Responsible OSINT Use

Rubiun is intended for anyone who wants to organize lawful research, investigation, verification, fraud analysis, cybersecurity work, or other legitimate OSINT workflows. OSINT tools can be sensitive because they may involve personal information or public records.

  • Use Rubiun only for lawful purposes and with an appropriate basis for the investigation.
  • Respect privacy, safety, platform rules, intellectual property, and applicable data protection laws.
  • Do not use Rubiun to stalk, harass, threaten, shame, blackmail, or intimidate anyone.
  • Do not use Rubiun to make decisions that require human review or legal compliance without the required review process.

5. Collaboration and Sharing

Rubiun may allow boards to be shared with other users or team members. You are responsible for choosing appropriate access settings and for confirming that collaborators are allowed to view the content on a board.

Administrators and board owners may be able to invite users, remove users, change permissions, review board activity, or delete shared content depending on the plan and workspace settings.

6. Transforms and Third-Party Services

Rubiun may connect to external OSINT, enrichment, breach-checking, or analysis providers through transforms. When you run a transform, the input you provide may be sent to that provider so the transform can return results.

  • Only run transforms with data you are allowed to submit to the relevant provider.
  • Third-party providers may have their own terms, privacy policies, limits, and availability rules.
  • Transform results may be incomplete, outdated, incorrect, or require human verification.

7. Plans, Limits, and Billing

Rubiun may offer free, pro, team, or custom plans. Plan limits can include board counts, member seats, transform access, storage, API usage, and collaboration features.

Paid plans, billing periods, refunds, cancellation rules, taxes, and payment provider terms will apply once payment processing is enabled. Until billing is active, pricing screens should be treated as product UI and not as a completed purchase flow.

8. Admin and Moderation Tools

Rubiun may provide owner or admin tools for managing users, investigating abuse, reviewing account activity, blocking users, and protecting the workspace. These tools must be used only for legitimate operational, safety, security, or compliance reasons.

Admins should avoid unnecessary access to user content and should follow internal procedures when reviewing personal information or sensitive investigation material.

9. Security Responsibilities

Rubiun uses technical controls to protect accounts and workspaces, but security is shared between the service and users.

  • Use strong, unique passwords and keep devices secure.
  • Do not attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, logging, or other security controls.
  • Do not probe, scan, attack, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with Rubiun except as expressly authorized.
  • Report suspected vulnerabilities responsibly to the service owner or security contact once available.

10. Prohibited Activity

You may not use Rubiun to do any of the following:

  • Break the law or violate another person's rights.
  • Collect or process personal data without a lawful basis.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, exploit, or target people.
  • Upload malware, stolen data, exploit code, or illegal content.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, boards, data, or networks.
  • Abuse invites, automation, transforms, subscriptions, or support channels.
  • Misrepresent Rubiun results as guaranteed, verified, or official records when they are not.

11. Service Availability and Changes

Rubiun is still under development. Features may be added, changed, limited, paused, or removed. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, security work, outages, or infrastructure changes.

Rubiun may delete inactive accounts, remove illegal content, or restrict access when required for security, legal, abuse prevention, or operational reasons.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Rubiun is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. Investigation data, transform results, and third-party information may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unavailable.

You are responsible for independently verifying important results before relying on them. Rubiun does not provide legal advice, investigative certification, law enforcement authority, compliance approval, or guaranteed outcomes.

13. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated as Rubiun develops. Material changes should be communicated through the service, email, or another reasonable method. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.

14. Contact

For support, account, billing, or security questions, contact Rubiun at [email protected].
